A Glastonbury school and a Glastonbury salon have thrown their weight behind Sport Relief.
The national event saw thousands of people across the UK taking part in sporting events and raising a total Pounds 31,633,091 so far for charity.
And in central Somerset, the girls in Solo II got into the spirit of things by using a turbo- trainer to raise more than Pounds 500 for charity.
“They were cycling in between clients to raise money for this brilliant cause and managed to make just over Pounds 500,” said Khush Jabble, for the salon.
“The money that is raised will go to poor and vulnerable people in this country and around the globe.”
And children from St John’s Infant School and Nursery strapped on their walking shoes to get involved.
“All the children from St John’s Infant SChool and Nursery walked a mile around Glastonbury Abbey,” said Jo Greathead from the school.
“We wanted to raise money for Sport Relief and our School Swimming Pool rebuild fund.
“We were really impressed by the effort from all the children and the large number of parents who turned out to support us.”
