A COMPUTER software company is creating 22 jobs at its South Wales headquarters after it secured more than pounds 500,000 investment.
Nantgarw-based FD Systems won a pounds 250,000 grant from the Welsh Assembly Government and pounds 300,000 of additional facilities from RBS.
The company says the funding will allow it to expand its Sage and Microsoft businesses as well as continuing the expansion of its e-commerce software offering.
FDSystemsspecialises in the supply of business management software to companies based in the UK and Europe.
Founded in 1997, the company is owned and managed by its working directors. It has 140 staff and a turnover in the region of pounds 13m.
The company has an established network of regional offices across the UKand Ireland fromwhere it offers a service to a range of organisations.
Geoff Thomas, managing director and co-founder of FD Systems, said: “There is no doubt that it isn’t enough just to be good at what you do. A company like this must continually adapt to survive.
“What we knew three years ago is already outdated.
“I have the utmost admiration for the way in which our consultants continue to improve, learn and apply themselves in this ever changing and hugely demanding technological and commercialworld.Without doubt our people are at the heart of what we do.
“The funding from RBS was key to our being able to win the pounds 250,000 grant from the Welsh Assembly Government and the support from these organisations was outstanding given the current tough funding climate.
“Of course,we had a very good case to put, since it was all about creating 22 newjobs inWales and securing the future of our business.”
Andrew Jones, RBS relationship director, said:”We are very pleased to be able to support the ambitious growth plans of GeoffThomas and his management team.
“In many ways this was a challenging deal to deliver in the current climate but the company has a tremendous reputation, not least having won Sage Business Partner of the Year three years running.
“We were confident that they could deliver on their growth plans and were delighted to be able to join the Welsh Assembly Government in bringing a number of new jobs to the region.”
FD Systems recently acquired its rival IT firm Clarita, consolidating its positionasoneof the leadingsoftware solution providers in the UK and Ireland.
